Renowned Bangladeshi folk singer Rahul Ananda, his wife & teenage son flee, after a mob set ablaze their home in #Bangladesh. The 140yr old house was a cultural hub, visited by the music fraternity. French President Emmanuel Macron too had recently visited them during his 2023 Dhaka visit. Rahul Ananda is the frontman of band called 'Joler Gaan'.. he & his family are shaken, taking refuge in a secret place. Bangladesh has seen a spate of violent attacks on Hindus, their homes & Temples. The Indian cultural centre in Dhaka attacked!

Als een gebaar van goodwill bezocht Mohammad Yunus een hindu-tempel in Bangladesh. We zien een imam op de voorgrond maar de aanwezigheid van hindu-priesters valt toch niet op.

Maar inderdaad, de beelden over het vernielen van boeddhistische vestigingen in Bangladesh, zijn niet recent. Factly heeft hier inderdaad een punt.

Op 29 augustus werd bekend dat een leidinggevende van de Awami-Liga, de partij van de afgetreden Sheikh Hasina, levenloos was aangetroffen in een betelnoten-plantage op de grens met India.
